Puma Press

About

Puma Press is a new effort bringing journalism back to Northridge Academy beginning in the fall of ’23.  Students, known as the News Crew, serve as the journalists researching and writing the stories and articles. News Crew meets weekly in the Library during lunch, under the direction and advisement of Mr. Kent our school librarian, and Mr. Thomas, the school climate coach.  Photography teacher, Ms. Pollard, is consulting.

Puma Press started in the fall of ’23 by Mr. Kent with the recruitment of his founding team -Sean Hunt, Kailey Trujillo and Casey Teramoto. Kent’s goal in starting the program was to bring more news literacy to Pumas.  It was boosted by a fellowship from Cal Matters that gave the initial start-up the resources and strategies to launch.

The Puma Press newsroom welcomes public contributions. Send us your stories, photos, news and information to:  [email protected]
